When saving the progress of a computer game, after a hard battle, the created save file becomes the most important data on a computer. Many gamers choose to create copies of their save files and place them in a secure and safe location. GameSave Manager will perform this task automatically. It will scan your hard drive for save files and you may create backups.

GameSave Manager is freeware and it will not take long to download the 10 Mb package. It can be installed swiftly on any computer with a Windows installation.

There are multiple sections on the interface and they can be accessed by clicking the tabs on the left edge. After launching the software, it will scan your hard drive for save files. The results are listed in the first section of the interface. Here you can select your save files with the aid of check boxes and click the Backup Now option on the lower edge of the interface. You will have to specify the output path yourself in a separate window. After a smooth process, your saves will be placed in a single backup file. The software supports certain types of save files, but you can define new ones with the aid of a wizard.

The files can be restored in the Restore Gamesaves section. You will have to load the created backup file, select the saves and click the Restore Now option on the lower area of the window. This will place the backed up files in their original locations. Before restoring them, you can tick an option for setting up the path manually. If the option is not enabled, your save files may be overwritten.

You can also schedule the software to back up specific save files or all of them on a daily or weekly basis. When creating a new schedule, you will be guided by a wizard, with easy to understand instructions. Backups can be tested to make sure they are not damaged and they can also be saved again with a different name. GameSave Manager comes with many other features which let you upload the saves to a FTP server, place them into your Dropbox, move them to a separate partition and more.

Pros

GameSave Manager offers a large number of tools for managing your game saves. It lets you create backups, move them do different partitions and much more. Best of all, the software is absolutely free.

Cons

You will have to read a lot of text to figure out how to use all the features. If your game saves are too important, you can prevent losing or damaging them with GameSave Manager. It features everything you need to back up your save files.
